Parabole Chair

Æ//

Chairs have been used since antiquity, although for many centuries it was a symbolic article of state and dignity rather than an article for ordinary use. The design of the Parabole Chair refers to this original function of a “throne”, evoking a sense of regality.

The name of the chair is derived from the unique backrest detail, where the wood is hollowed out,  creating a striking juxtaposition between material solidity and the void within the curvature.

For the making of this object, we worked closely together with CasimirAteliers, master woodworkers specialised in high-end solid wooden furniture.
